Tārīkh (tarikh.io) is an application for learning Islamic history. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions and requests: team@tarikh.io.
To run the service: signing you in, saving your reading progress, providing membership features, sending service emails (sign-in codes, account and product updates), improving the product, and responding when you write to us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Tārīkh runs on trusted service providers, each processing data only on our instructions: Amazon Web Services (hosting and sign-in, primarily in the EU — Ireland), Neon (content database), Stripe (payments), Postmark (email delivery), and PostHog (product analytics).
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and analytics identifiers to understand product usage. We don't run third-party advertising cookies.
Account and progress data are kept while your account is active. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep records (for example, payment records).
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. Email team@tarikh.io and we'll respond within a month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note it here and update the date above.
